We’ve got just over a year to go before Batman and Superman return to the big screen, short of some kind of appearance in Wonder Woman next summer. With filming nearing the end, Zack Snyder has tweeted our first look at Ben Affleck’s Batman in what he calls the new Tactical Batsuit. The character’s had a long line of costume refreshes with each new instalment. And the Tactical Batsuit looks set to be another great addition.
The film picks up where things left off in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice earlier this year. Globally, Dawn of Justice is the fifth-highest-grossing film of the year so far, racking up $872m. With the added characters, including more Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg, things definitely have the potential to be bigger at the end of next year.
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
Affleck, seen below sporting the new Tactical Batsuit, of course returns to lead the cast opposite Henry Cavill. They’re joined by Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Amy Adams, Jeremy Irons, Jesse Eisenberg, J.K. Simmons, Willem Dafoe, Amber Heard, and Julian Lewis Jones.
Snyder (Man of Steel, Batman v Superman) is back behind the camera. He directs from a script written solely by Chris Terrio (Argo, Batman v Superman).
Justice League is set to be released in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D on November 17th in the US and UK. In the meantime, click through to enlarge our first look at Batman’s great new Tactical Batsuit. The eyes, especially, are looking pretty interesting. Bound to be some kind of new technology behind them.
